Farming has become more expensive due to rising fuel and other commodity prices. Many farmers in various sections of the country have complained about not receiving fair rates for their crops.

Farmers from seven talukas in Junagadh have come together to devise an innovative solution to the problem. 306 farmers from Visavdar Panth have founded a new company, Visavadar Taluka Farm Cooperative Group Limited (Visavadar Taluka Khet Sahakari Mandali Ltd), to market their own food grown on 4,000 bighas of land.

This company now sells seeds, fertilisers, and pesticides to its members.

The produce will be given over to the firm after the harvesting is completed. The company will be in charge of sorting, packing, and processing the produce, as well as conducting surveys to determine where they can obtain the best price. The produce will then be sent to those centres, where it will be sold at a higher price.

According to locals, this company will help not just farmers but also the general public.

Groundnuts are mostly produced in Junagadh. Members will now provide their crops to this company, which will process and create oil from them in the near future. Farmers will be able to sell this oil on the market for a good price for their groundnuts. People will receive pure oil as a result.

The goal for the company is to gradually acquire its machinery and begin operations. It has started looking for employees with experience in this field.
