The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 17 March 2021 with National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC) for cooperation in range of areas focussing on harnessing exports potential of agricultural & processed food products manufactured by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Dr. Sudhanshu, Secretary APEDA and P Udayakumar, Director (P&M), NSIC signed the MoU.
As per the MoU, the main areas of cooperation include facilitating APEDA registered members getting support under all the NSCI schemes.
The partnership between APEDA that functions under the Ministry of Commerce & NSIC, which works under Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprise, also support promotion of green as well as sustainable manufacturing technology for the MSME clusters to enable units to switch to sustainable & green production processes and products.
NSIC and APEDA will also facilitate participation of MSMEs in events of international level including B2B & B2C fairs to be conducted in India and abroad and to mutually cooperate in international business development and promotions.
The MoU also involves providing assistance available under Government schemes towards capacity building of MSME enterprises for their social and environmental compliances & skilling according to international standards. Both the organisations will conduct awareness programs about schemes of MSME Ministry & schemes implemented by NSIC.
