To mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Ministry of Agriculture is launching a week-long special campaign called 'Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari' to raise awareness about various schemes and their benefits for the farming community across the country.
Tomorrow, the MoA&FW, the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), and the Ministry of Rural Development will hold a variety of awareness activities as part of the campaign.
As part of the campaign, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare will hold farm machinery demonstrations tomorrow at various locations across the country via their FMTTIs (Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute). At the same time, FMTTIs will provide training to women farmers. In addition to the physical field visits, an online webinar will be organized to provide a bridge between innovators and industries.
The Ministry will organize field trips to sunflower cultivation sites in Ambala Kurukshetra, Fatehgarh Saheb, and Udhampur, as well as mustard farms in Jammu, Kathua, and Udhampur (JK). Kisan Goshti programmes will also be organized to educate farmers on the advantages of cultivating cash crops.
Webinars and Public Awareness A programme on improved production technology of high-value and exotic vegetable crops under protected cultivation will also be organized at the CIH, Nagaland, and the NER State Horticulture Department. The Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development at Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur, will provide training on microrhizome-based disease-free planting material production in Ginger and Turmeric.
The National Bee Board will also host a number of online beekeeping activities (NBB). The Directorate of Cashew & Cocoa Development will host a Krishi Mela on Cashew. The National Horticulture Board (NHB) will host a webinar on ODOP Products and Horticulture Cluster Development at State Level Offices of the National Horticulture Board and State Horticulture Missions.
Simultaneously, all allied Ministries and Departments are organizing various programmes as part of 'Kisan Bhagidari Prathamikta Hamari,' including a nationwide campaign on Bio-fortification, Nutri-Cereals, Millets cultivation, and crop diversification through ICAR Institutes.
The Watershed Management Division of the Department of Land Resources is hosting a webinar on "Integrated Watershed Development, its Contribution to Sustainable Utilization of Natural Resources, Enhancing Farmers' Livelihood and Incomes."
During the week-long campaign, farmers are informed about key schemes and their perspectives, as well as how to take advantage of the welfare schemes. Various field trips and interactions with industries are also planned to provide farmers with exposure.
