Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on 17 Nov 2020 has released Rs 510 crore interest subsidy for Kharif 2019 crop loans across the State under interest-free crop loan scheme or ‘YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu Scheme’, benefiting more than 14 lakh farmers. Jagan also released Rs 132 crore input subsidy for the crop losses in October 2020 because of heavy rains.

The CM announced that paddy and groundnut affected because of heavy rainfall would be procured by the government. According to the tie-up with Amul, milk procurement will start in three districts i.e. Prakasam, Chittoor & Kadapa in the first phase from 26 November and other districts would be covered in the subsequent phases. Jagan said for milk procurement, 9800 bulk milk chilling units are established near Rythu Bharosa Kendras.

He said that crop loan insurance claims worth Rs 1,800 crore will be paid to farmers in December.

Citing YSR Rythu Bharosa in which almost 50 lakh farmer families have been benefited, the CM said as against the promised Rs 12,500/year for 4 years under the scheme in the manifesto, his government is paying Rs 13,500 /year to the farmers for 5 years and already the scheme was implemented two times.

He added that Andhra Pradesh is a pro-farmer state, hence the state government will provide maximum support & address farmer's distress. He said, "The Government will help every farmer starting from seeds to the purchase of crops".

Mentioning that no eligible farmer would be left out of any government scheme, he advised those who missed out to avail the schemes despite being eligible to reach out to Rythu Bharosa Kendras to get the lapses, if any, corrected. A one-week special drive was also organised to ensure those who missed the opportunity to avail various schemes do so based on their eligibility.
