  • Heavy Rainfall activity is likely in these States

    On 9th September (Thursday), the India Meteorological Department predicted heavy to very rains over many states in the next 3 days. In the latest update of the weather department, IMD said that widespread heavy rainfall is likely in the states of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana & Himachal Pradesh. Fairly widespread rains accompanied with isolated heavy falls are likely over the south Gujarat region, north Konkan, Chhattisgarh, Odisha during 12th – 13th September.

  • Excessive Rains in September can Impact Kharif Crop

    The above rainfall activity in September as forecasted by the India Meteorological Department will impact the Kharif crop if it is not spread out evenly. The agricultural experts said that the rains are now helping the oilseed crops such as groundnut, paddy, pulses, maize, bajra, soya bean & cotton. But, if there is an excessive rain & it continues till the end of September then it will damage the crops, sending their prices up.

  • The Level of Water reaches the “Alert” Mark in Godavari River after 15 years

    Heavy Rains lash the Marathawada region Maharashtra, the level of water in Godavari river reached the “Alert” mark after around 15 years, the state PWD minister Ashok Chavan said that the “Water has reached “alert” mark in Godavari river. This phenomenon is being seen after 15 years and over the years there were several buildings, come up along with the river & I have also seen some structure have been built in the nullahs in Nanded city”.

     

  • PAU wins “Green & Clean Campus” Award

    The Punjab Agriculture University won the “Green & Clean Campus” ward, has announced under the National Agriculture Higher Education Project (NAHEP) of Indian Council Agricultural Research, New Delhi. The prize carries a cash reward of Rs. 10 lakh & a certificate. It will be presented by the Union minister for the agriculture & farmers welfare during forthcoming vice-chancellors conference.
