IMD Predicts Another Set of Rains In Tamil Nadu
The India Meteorological Department has predicted another set of heavy rainfall on the Chennai coast between November 10 & 13. So far, there were 4 people have lost their lives in the rain-related incidents in Chennai, Theni & Madurai districts of Tamil Nadu since November 8. Besides, 16 cattle have also died due to the rainfall. As many as 237 hurts were partially damaged & 26 completely in several regions of state because of the rain. Most roads & bylanes were covered under water while there was water up to 2 ft in low-lying localities in Chennai.

Bullish Sentiment In Sugar Avert An Agitation Over Cane Price
The strong bullish sentiment in sugar has helped avert an agitation over the cane price in Maharashtra, allowing to start 2021-2022 crushing season on time. The sugar millers & the state government, which has several sugar barons from Congress and NCP as ministers had proposed legal amendments to enable the breaking up of fair & remunerative price payment in installments, instead of paying it as a lump sum amount within 14 days of a cane delivery as mandated by the law.

Government Buys 209 lakhs of Paddy So far
On 9th November (Tuesday) the government said that it has procured 209.52 lakh tonne of paddy so far in the current Kharif marketing season for over Rs 41, 066.80 crores. The Kharif marketing season (KMS) 2021-2022 runs from October to September.

Delhi To Launch Campaign Against Open Burning of Garbage
The government of Delhi will launch the campaign against the open burning of garbage from November 11 to December 11, announce the Environment Minister Gopal Rai on 9th November (Tuesday). He also said that the second phase of the anti-dust campaign was from November 12 to December 12.
