    The Nobel Peace Prize 2020 Friday was awarded to the World Food Programme (WFP) for its efforts to combat hunger and food insecurity around the globe. The announcement was made in Oslo by Berit Reiss-Andersen, the chair of the Nobel Committee.
  • Rajasthan Priest Burnt Alive; Attacked Over Land 

    A priest in Rajasthan's Karauli district, round 177  km from state capital Jaipur, died due to burn injuries after he was attacked by a group of people over a land dispute.
    The priest had about thirteen bighas of land which belonged to the Radha Krishna temple trust in a village in the district.
  • Union Minister Prakash Javadekar says media 'should not be TRP driven', promises action

    Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday said that media should not be 'TRP driven', but assured action 'if there is an issue'. Javadekar's comments came after Mumbai Police commissioner Param Bir Singh on Thursday said that three channels, including Republic TV, 'manipulated' the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data pertaining to television viewership.
