Agriculture Minister to Visit Israel Next Week
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will visit Israel from May 8 to 11, for bilateral meetings and to discuss a variety of farm-related problems. At the request of Israel's Minister of Agriculture, Oded Forer, a delegation led by Tomar will visit Israel from May 8 to 11, 2022, for bilateral discussions to discuss various agricultural issues between both the two countries.

Agriculture Production Department (APD) Formed in Jammu and Kashmir
The Agriculture Production Department (APD) was formed on Saturday by merging three existing line departments: the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, the Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department, and the Horticulture Department. The government said that the restructure of line departments was aimed at doubling the farm income of farmers, orchardists, and those who make up 70% of the population and rely on cattle, sheep, and fisheries for a living.

Fuel Price Update May 9th: Check out Petrol and Diesel Prices in Major Cities
For the past 33 days, the prices of gasoline and diesel have remained unchanged. Rates of petrol and diesel have hiked by Rs 10 per liter each via 14 updates since the expiration of a four-and-a-half-month rate freeze on March 22. On April 6, fuel prices were increased by 80 paise per liter.

The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, has organized a Yoga Countdown Program on May 9th, 2022, as a lead-up to the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2022, which will take place on June 21st, 2022. This is one of the Department of Fisheries' attempts to commemorate India's 75th year of independence by celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The Department of Animal Husbandry Celebrates World Veterinary Day 2022
Today, the Animal Husbandry Department, Kishtwar celebrated World Veterinary Day 2022 with the theme "Strengthening Veterinary Resilience" at the Chief Animal Husbandry Office. All dignitaries, participants, ex. veterinarians and para-vets were welcomed to the program. Dr. S.M Usman administered a promise to serve the country to the veterinarian.

UPL Announces Record Net Profit of Rs 3,626 crore in FY22
UPL Ltd. Has reported financial results for the fourth quarter of FY22. The company's Q4 FY22 Revenue witnessed robust growth of 24% YoY to reach INR 15,860 crore, led by better product realizations, higher volumes and currency impact. Q4 FY22 EBITDA grew by 26% YoY to INR 3,591 crore as against INR 2,839 crore in Q4 FY21. Commenting on the performance, Jai Shroff, CEO of UPL Ltd., said “FY22 was a year of challenging macro-environment, input cost inflationary pressures and supply chain disruptions and we chose to prudently invest towards ensuring reliable growth going forward.”

Corteva Agriscience Expands Sunflower Seed Production
Corteva Agriscience is expanding its sunflower seed business in Europe by investing an additional €14 million in the Afumati production facility in Romania. The investment will enable the company to meet rising domestic and international farmer demand for high-quality sunflower seeds.
