  • Kerala to Form Welfare Fund Board for Farmers

    For the very first in India, the Kerala government has decided to set up a Welfare Fund Board for upliftment of farmers in the state. The state cabinet on 7th October 2020 decided to form a board which will be known as ‘Kerala Karshaka Kshemanidhi Board’.

     

  • Home ministry amends Covid-19 guidelines for poll-bound states

    The Ministry of Home Affairs today (8th Oct 2020) has modified its Coronavirus guidelines issues on 30th September  for twelve states where elections are scheduled to be held. The new government order allows political rallies to be held in all these states with immediate effect. It must be noted that these types of gatherings were originally banned till 15th October .

  • India to contract by 9.6% in FY21 says World Bank Report  

    India needs to continue with critical reforms to reverse the sudden and steep impact of COVID-19 on its economy, the World Bank said in a report. Indian economy is likely to contract by 9.6% in the fiscal year that started in March 2020. World Bank says India’s growth is projected to rebound to 5.4% in FY22, mostly reflecting base effects, assuming COVID-related restrictions are fully lifted by 2022. 

  • Paytm aims to support one million mini-apps to compete against Google 

    Paytm has today (October 8) said it aims to support 1 million apps on its recently launched Android Mini App Store as part of its efforts to support Indian developers and compete against tech giant Google. Interestingly, the company will also invest Rs 10 crore for the app developers on its platform.
