90% of India’s Green Energy Projects Got Investments Grade Ratings in 2020
Over 90% of India’s Green Energy project got the investment-grade ratings of BBB & above in 2020, as per the study by CEEW Centre for Energy Finance (CEEW-CEF). “This is due to significantly improved financial viability of India’s renewable energy projects over the last decade on an account of favorable policy support from central government. As recently as 2015, less than 50% of the projects in the sector enjoyed such favorable ratings from credit rating agencies on their debt issuances”, says CEEW-CEF in a statement.
