Ginger Farmers Distressed Due to Low Market Value of Ginger
Ginger farmers in Kerala and Karnataka like to cultivate ginger rhizomes by the first week of April as this is when they obtain the best price for their produce. However, due to the steep drop in the price of the commodity, more than 60% of farmers, particularly those farming ginger rhizomes in Karnataka, have yet to harvest their crops.

ICAR-CIFT celebrates its 65th Foundation Day

Wheat procurement in Haryana decline by 50 percent
According to officials, wheat procurement in Haryana has plummeted by about 50%, who believe that farmers are hoarding their crops in the hopes of better pricing from private enterprises that have entered the market this season. Despite the fact that wheat yields have been impacted by the early start of summer and intense heatwave, procurement is half of what it was last year.

Fuel Price Update: Prices of Fuel Remain Unchanged for a Month
On May 6, oil marketing companies (OMC) left petrol rates unchanged for an entire month. Prices have remained stable since April 6, when OMCs raised prices by Rs 10 per liter across 14 major cities. The current price of petrol in Delhi is Rs 105.41 a liter, up 80 paise from the previous spike over a month ago. In the city, diesel costs Rs 95.87.

Farmers Raise Sanitation Issues at Dairy Complexes in Ambala
Hundreds of dairy farmers, most of whom operate within the municipal corporation's boundaries, have complained about the lack of facilities at dairy complexes in Kanwala and Katholi villages in Ambala City. They have highlighted the lack of sewage pipes, the failure to clean clogged lines, and the open dumping of cow dung.

Bharat Certis Agriscience Launches Soil Testing Facility
Bharat Certis Agriscience Ltd launched a ‘Soil Testing’ initiative at Village Surana in Jaipur District of Rajasthan, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Bharat Certis plans to open 34 more soil testing facilities across India in the coming weeks. These new facilities are expected to benefit 10,000 farmers in the first year alone.

Holland to Help Set Up Dairy Trading Centre Of Excellence
Holland is eager to establish multiple DTCEs in India, as well as Centres of Excellence (CoE) for horticulture, floriculture, and food processing. According to Michiel van Erkel, Agriculture Counsellor, Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Dutch government is eager to share its expertise in the dairy sector with India and will soon establish a Dairy Trading Centre of Excellence (DTCE) in southern Uttar Pradesh.
