  • Bubonic Plague: Know its Causes and Symptoms

    At a time when the world is trying to deal with Covid-19 pandemic, a suspected case of bubonic plague, also known as black death, has been reported from North China’s region of Inner Mongolia. The health committee in Bayannur on Sunday issued a third-level warning for plague prevention & control that will last till the end of 2020, according to Xinhua News Agency. It must be noted that Bubonic plague is the most common type of plague which is caused by a bacteria. The common symptoms include fever & chills, headache, muscle pain, fatigue etc.

  • Sawan 2020 Starts Today and will End on August 3

    Sawan 2020: A number of devotees all over the country are observing 'Sawan Somwar' today on the first Somwar or Monday in the month of Sawan. The month corresponds to mainly July to August in the Gregorian calendar that is generally followed. Sawan that comes in the monsoon season in India, is important not only for farmers and the economy but for crores of devotees of Lord Shiva & Lord Vishnu who observe fasts and do pujas during this period. The auspicious month of Sawan begins today (6th July) and ends on 3 August.

    Globally known as a 'living god', Buddhist spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama turned 85 today (6th July 2020) and his followers have started the global virtual celebrations to dedicate him the 'Year of Gratitude'. The Dalai Lama in a video message from his residence asked his followers that it was not possible for a huge number of people to hold a big celebration due to restrictions owing to the pandemic. He said, "And it is not necessary either. But, if you want to celebrate my birthday, I would like to ask you to recite Mani mantra (Om Mani Padme Hung), at least one thousand times."

  • Tamil Nadu Class 12 Result 2020 to be Announced Shortly

    Tamil Nadu Class 12 results 20 are likely to be declared today or tomorrow i.e. 6th July or 7th July, as per latest reports. Once announced, class 12 results would be available on the following websites - tnresults.nic.in; dge1.tn.nic.in & dge2.tn.nic.in. KA Sengottaiyan, state education minister had earlier said that class 12 result will be declared in the first week of July, while an officer at Tamil Nadu’s Directorate of Government Examinations told NDTV that marks will be announced by July 7.

     

     

  • Covid-19 Updates: India Overtakes Russia in Coronavirus Cases

    India has recorded over 24,000 new cases of Coronavirus in the past 24 hours, surpassing Russia. The country now has the third-largest number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the world - 697,413. In addition, there have been 19,693 deaths so far.

    The latest surge in figures has also been powered by an increase in cases from southern states like Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Karnataka.
