  • Alcoholism drug may help in fight against Coronavirus: Study

    Covid-19 News Updates: Coronavirus tally in India rose to 19,64,536 on Thursday (6th August) after more than 56,000 fresh cases were reported in last 24 hours. The death toll also went up from 39,795 to 40,699, as per latest data released by the Ministry of Health Affairs.

    In the meantime, a new study says that ‘Alcoholism drug can help in fight against COVID-19’. Disulfiram, the medication that is used to treat alcoholism, can help in the fight against SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes novel Coronavirus, the study said.

  • SSLC Result 2020 Karnataka likely to be Announced on 7th August

    The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board or KSEEB is likely to announce the Secondary School Level Certificate (SSLC) result 2020 tomorrow – 7th August. Students can check their marks on the official website of the board - karresults.nic.in after the results are declared. As per Zee News report, S Suresh Kumar, Karnataka Primary & Secondary Education Minister last month said that KSEEB will announce Class X results in the first week of August.

    Mumbai Rains Updates: After continuous heavy showers in Mumbai and neighbouring regions, the rain intensity reduced on 6th August, today morning and water receded in some flooded areas, leading to a gradual resumption of rain & road transport services, according to officials.

    In the meantime, some areas in south Mumbai that witnessed a record rain yesterday, were still water-logged, they said. India Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in Mumbai and suburbs & intense showers in some parts of Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) in the next 24 hours. Rainfall is also likely in Gujarat, Konkan & Goa for the next 24 hours

  • Sugar Output to increase to 305 lakh tonnes in 2020-21: India Ratings

    India Ratings said that it expects sugar output to increase to 305 lakh tonnes in the sugar year 2020-21 (SS21). India Ratings (Ind-Ra) in a report said that domestic oversupply will continue in SS21 because of high carryover stocks & an expected increase in production. It is important to mention that sugar marketing season runs from - October till September.
