  • Farmers Protest Live updates: Haryana will not stop Rahul’s tractor rally

    Attacking the centre over the farm bills, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that his party will never back off from opposing these bills. “Every farmer will come on road to fight against these bills and against your party. Congress party stands with all the farmers and will always support them,” he said while addressing a gathering in Sangrur’s Barnala chowk. Rahul Gandhi further claimed that PM Modi had been lying to the people for the last six years. “This is a kathputli government whose strings are in the hands of the Adanis and Ambanis. These are the three black laws that have been passed. The Modi government wants to destroy the three pillars of Indian agriculture – MSP, food grain procurement and Mandis,” he said.

    According to the weather channel, there will be heavy rain and thunderstorms over West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Assam. Widespread rainfall is predicted over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Sikkim.

    It said scattered showers are possible over Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, northern Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Also, there could be isolated rainfall & thunderstorms over Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

  • Coronavirus India Live Updates: COVID-19 Cases Cross 66 Lakh-Mark in India

    India has logged 66,23,815 coronavirus cases so far with 74,442 new infections. 903 deaths in the last 24 hours have pushed the total death count to 1,02,685. 76,737 patients have recovered from the infection in the country in the last 24 hours. With 55,86,703 people in the country having recovered since the beginning of the pandemic, the overall recovery rate is 84.3 per cent. Moreover, India is the second worst-hit country in the world by the pandemic after the United States.

  • Hathras rape case: AAP leader Sanjay Singh attacked with ink on reaching victim’s village

    Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh was attacked with ink in Hathras on Monday as he stepped out of his car after reaching the village. In a video of the incident, a man is seen to raise slogans while throwing the ink at Singh, who was then rushed to the safety of his vehicle. The attacker was overpowered on the spot.

    As per reports, the Congress on Monday staged a silent protest in the district headquarters of states across the country to demand justice for the Hathras woman who was allegedly gangraped and killed by four upper caste men last week. “The Hathras incident was unfortunate and a blot on humanity. The Uttar Pradesh governments behaviour in this case has been suspicious,” Maharashta Congress chief Balasaheb Thorat told reporters in Mumbai.

     

  • Two CRPF personnel killed, three injured after militants open fire in J&K’s Pampore

    Two CRPF soldiers were killed and three others injured after militants opened fire at a patrolling party near Kandijhal Bridge in Pampore in south Kashmir on Monday. The injured personnel were evacuated to the district hospital, where two succumbed to their injuries, the CRPF said in a statement.
