IMD Predicts Widespread Shower from 5th to 9th Sep
The India Meteorological Department stated widespread showers are likely to occur over the southern peninsular regions of the country for the next 4 days. According to the latest forecast by IMD, there will be enhanced rainfall activity is expected over Maharashtra, Marathawada, and Konkan & Goa from 5th to 9th September. Not only this, even Gujarat will receive widespread showers on 7th & 8th September.

FSSAI orders the State to Probe Use of Dairy Terms
The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India has directed the food safety departments of the states to investigate & identify the specific instances where dairy terminologies have been used on non-dairy or plant-based food products. In case of any violations, the food business operators may be granted 15 days of time to improve or modify their product labels & comply with the provisions of FSS Regulation, 2011 before any action is being taken.

Weavers of J & K process Raw Wool into Yarn Locally
Raw wool is being turned into yarn locally in Jammu & Kashmir to boost the woolen carpet industry. Raw wool was being to the other states to process it into the yarn which clearly increased its cost. With the Jammu & Kashmir administration providing the aid to weave the wool locally, the workers in the industry are hopeful that it will bring significant benefits to the woolen carpet”& woolen carpet industry in the union territory.

J & K Forest Department Undertakes Tree Plantation on War Footing
The forest division of the Jammu & Kashmir Forest Department has been working on war footing to increase green cover in the region under the Central government’s Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management & Planning Authority Scheme. Mohd Sharif, one of a forester has said that the forest department has been active in working towards increasing green cover, along with curbing the pollution it has improved the look of Hills.
