  • Rahul asks workers to provide food, shelter, support to farmers 

    Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has appealed to party workers to support the protesting farmers with food and shelter and help them with their daily chores. The Congress has initiated a 'speak up for farmers campaign' but the party wants to corner the Union Government over farm laws which the party has opposed in Parliament. 

    In a video message released on social media Gandhi said, "Public and Congress workers should help the farmers and support them provide food and shelter to them and stand against the government with full might." 

  • Shah holds meeting as farmers continue to protest on Delhi borders 

    Even as farmers continued to protest on Delhi borders, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is chairing a meeting here to deliberate on the issue with senior leaders. The meeting that began on Monday morning at Shah's residence, where Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and other senior BJP leaders were also present, seems to indicate the central government's willingness to hold unconditional talks with farmers. 

    The meeting, sources said, would decide on the future course of action by the Union government to persuade farmers to end their protest and resolve the contentious issues through discussions across the table. 

  • PM Modi greets people on Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak 

    The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has greeted the people on the occasion of Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, "I bow to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on his Parkash Purab. May his thoughts keep motivating us to serve society and ensure a better planet." 

  • Longest 12.5 km elevated road to open for commuters in Patna 

    People of Bihar will get the longest elevated road of 12.5 km in Patna on Monday. The six-lane elevated road will connect Digha JP Setu with AIIMS Patna. An official said that it will give direct access from North Bihar to South Bihar without facing traffic congestion at Patna. 

    Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate this flyover on Monday evening. Earlier, Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, managing director of Bihar State Road Development Corporation Ltd, inspected the flyover on Sunday evening and directed officials to complete the finishing work. 

  • Farmers listen to 'kirtan' to commemorate Guru Nanak's birth anniversary 

    Amid their stand-off with the Centre over their protest venue in Delhi, farmers rallying at the Singhu entry point on the Delhi-Haryana border on Monday were busy commemorating the birth anniversary of the first Sikh master, Guru Nanak Dev, by listening to 'kirtan' and recalling his teachings in a sombre atmosphere. 

    The farmers, a majority of them from Punjab and followers of Sikh religion have dug in their heels at the Singhu border for the last five days and are adamant on holding their proposed protest either at Jantar Mantar or Ramlila ground. All this while, their leaders are busy mulling their future course of action. 

  • PM Modi to visit Varanasi for 'Dev Deepawali' 

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, on Monday, to light the first 'Diya' for the 'Dev Deepawali' celebrations. Dev Deepawali, which is celebrated on every full moon night of the Kartik month in the Hindu calendar, will be celebrated by lighting 11 lakh diyas on both sides of Ganga River. 

    The Prime Minister, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries, will be taken on a cruise which will halt at the Chetram Ghat from where the guests will witness a scintillating laser show. 

  • CBSE Board Exams, JEE Main 2021: Big announcement about date made

    Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has recently tweeted and confirmed that he will address the queries regarding these exams on December 3. Pokhriyal has urged the students, parents and stakeholders to post their queries or concerns with hashtag #EducationMinisterGoesLive on Twitter.   

    There is big news coming out from the Union Education minister over the conduct of CBSE board exams competitive exams such as JEE Main 2021, NEET 2021 etc. There has been a campaign going on Twitter for while asking students, teachers and parents to submit their queries and suggestions about these exams. But, now there is a development on this front.     

  • COVID-19 Updates: Eight states reporting maximum new deaths, says government data 

    Eight states are reporting most of India’s COVID-19 related daily deaths, shows government data. With 444 new deaths reported from across the country on Sunday, the total number of people have succumbed to the viral infection in the country has reached 137,173. 

    About 71% of the new COVID-19 deaths are being reported from Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. With 89 deaths reported on Sunday, Maharashtra had the maximum new fatalities. Delhi follows closely with 68 deaths and West Bengal reported 54 deaths.
