  • IMD Issues Orange Alert in Andhra & Asked Fishermen to not Venture into the Sea

    On 29th November (Monday), the India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert in Nellore, Prakasam, Chittoor & Kadapa districts. IMD also predicted thunderstorms & lightning in these 4 districts of Andhra Pradesh. The weather department issued an advisory for the fishermen not to venture into the sea.

  • IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall, Snowfall in These States till December 3

    On 29th November (Monday) the India Meteorological Department said that there will be isolated heavy to extremely heavy rains is likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 30th November to 2nd December. The rainfall activity is likely to increase with isolated heavy to very rains over north coastal Andhra Pradesh & Odisha from a night of 3rd December for the next 48 hours it added. Also, there will be scattered to fairly widespread rainfall or snowfall along with isolated thunderstorms & lightning is likely over the Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Ladakh, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand during 1st to 3rd December with maximum activity on 2nd December.

     

  • ICAR-DMAPR, Anand Celebrates 30th Foundation Day

    The ICAR-Directorate of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants Research, Anand, and Gujarat celebrated its 30th Foundation Day on 24th November 2021. The Chief Guest, Dr. K.B. Katheria, Vice-Chancellor, Anand Agricultural University, Anand, stressed the need for accelerated development of the varieties & hybrids in the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.

     

  • COVID-19 Variant Omicron led To Ban Travels & Restrictions in Many Countries

    Following the emergence of the new COVID-19 variant ‘Omicron’, which has led to the travel bans & new restrictions in many countries across the world, the DG Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Dr. Shekhar C Mande said that India is observing the situation in the other countries, & while the situation is a cause of concern, it is not alarming.

  • Rajasthan is all set to Witness Line of Festivals from December 1

    Rajasthan will be witnessing the line of festivals for tourists visiting the desert states in winter, starting from the Kumbhalgarh festival from 1st December. According to the state tourism department, ‘the Ranakpur Jawai Bandh Utsav to commence from 22nd December in Pali district & Sharad Utsav of the Mount Abu on 30th – 31st December will mark last of the official tourism event of the year 2021. However, there are more such events that stand to entice the visitor in the months to follow.
