  • Government Announces Early Commencement of Rice Procurement in all States

    The food ministry, on 28th September 2020 had announced early commencement of procurement operation for rice in all the states – prior to the normal procurement start date of 1st October. The government had already advanced its procurement operations in Haryana and Punjab from 26th September.

  • Farm Bill 2020: They are insulting farmers; PM Modi on tractor burning at Rajpath

    Amid the intensifying protest against the Farm Bill 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said some people do not want farmers to sell their produce in the open market and are insulting them by setting fire to “goods and equipment worshipped by farmers”.

    “Today, even when the central government is giving the farmers their rights, these people came down on protest. These people want the farmers of the country could not sell their produce in the open market. These people are now insulting the farmers by setting fire to the goods and equipment that the farmer worships,” said PM Modi.

  • Sugar mills can send ethanol proposals till Oct 15: Government

    The Government has opened a one-month window for the sugar mills till 15th October, to submit their proposals to get loans at a subsidised interest rate for increasing ethanol capacity in India, according to a senior Food Ministry official.

    As part of an incentive scheme that was announced in 2018, the Modi Government had approved soft loans for sugar mills to set up new distilleries or upgrade the existing ones, increase capacity & encourage them to divert sugarcane to ethanol making.

  • Coronavirus India Live Updates: Recovered cases in India exceed active cases by more than 41.5 lakhs

    India's Covid-19 tally crossed the 61-lakh mark on Tuesday with a spike of 70,589 new cases and 776 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. The country's Covid count stands at 61,45,292 including 9,47,576 active cases, according to the Union health ministry.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated six mega projects in Uttarakhand  

    PM Modi has inaugurated 6 mega projects today (29 September 2020) in Uttarakhand under the Namami Gange Mission, through video conference. PM addressed the event and said, "In the past decades, huge initiatives were taken up to clean river Ganga but those initiatives had neither public participation nor farsightedness. As a result, the water of river Ganga was never cleaned". 

     

     

  • Defence scientist honeytrapped by Bigg Boss contestant & others 

    A shocking incident occurred when a 35-year-old scientist was honeytrapped and held hostage at a hotel in Noida by 5 persons including a Big Boss contestant. The gang has demanded Rs 10 lakh from the victim to free him.
