With a tenure spanning 27 years at ITC Limited, Lingareddy highlighted the profound 113-year link between ITC and agriculture. He emphasized that the company's impact extends beyond commonplace products, showcasing a commitment that goes beyond the conventional. MC Dominic, the founder and editor-in-chief of Krishi Jagran welcomed the guest and emphasized how ITC contributes in adding value to the farming community and helping farmers sell their products. “When there was no internet, ITC could reach out to the farmers in villages through ITC e-Choupal, which even the government could not do at that time,” said Dominic.

    The chief guest of the programme, Dr. B Neeraja Prabhakar, Vice Chancellor, Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, Telangana, inaugurated the conference. Dr. G. Byju, Director, ICAR-CTCRI presided over the function and Dr. R. Dinesh, Director, Indian Institute of Spices Research (IISR) was the Guest of Honour of the inaugural function. The conference was organized with the aim of understanding the scope and importance of tropical tuber crops among various stakeholders including researchers, farming community and policy makers.

    The Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, is set to host the 81st Plenary Meeting of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) from December 2nd to 5th, 2023, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The event, organized by the Office of Textile Commissioner in collaboration with the Cotton Corporation of India Limited (CCI), the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), and the Cotton Association of India (CAI), marks a significant milestone for the country, hosting the ICAC Plenary after an eight-year gap. The inauguration ceremony, scheduled for December 2, 2023, at 02:00 p.m., will be graced by Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Textiles, Commerce & Industry, and Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India. Over 400 delegates from 35 countries are expected to participate in the four-day conference, making it the first in-person Plenary Meeting since 2019, overcoming the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

    CLAAS Agricultural Machinery Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned Indian subsidiary of the German agriculture machinery manufacturers and the pioneer in multi-crop harvesting, has announced the appointment of Sriram Kannan as the new Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director for CLAAS India. Sriram Kannan comes with extensive industry experience of over 25 years and was leading the manufacturing operations as Managing Director of CLAAS India before he was elevated to the role of CEO & MD of the entire operations of CLAAS in India. He also worked with Bosch (Formerly MICO), Kurlon Ltd., Lapp India Private Limited at various capacities before joining CLAAS India in 2014.
