  • IMD Predicts Heavy Rains in These States on Sep 29

    The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains at the isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch. Heavy falls are likely at the isolated places over Gujarat Region, Gangetic West Bengal & Konkan & Goa. Heavy rainfall at the isolated places over Odisha, Jharkhand & Madhya Maharashtra. Thunderstorms along with lightning are likely at the isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha & Uttarakhand, and Tamil Nadu, Karaikal & Puducherry.

  • PM Modi to Launch 35 Crop Varieties

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi to dedicate 35 crop varieties with special traits in the nationwide program on 28th September (Tuesday). To create mass awareness for the adoption of resilient technologies, the pan-India event will be held at all ICAR Institutions, the state & central agricultural universities & the Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s (KVKs).

  • Government Aims to Tap Solar Energy

    India Plans to tap its ambitious solar program to offer uninterrupted power to the cold-chain facilities for storing vaccines in what would be a major boost to the nationwide Covid-19 vaccine exercise. The plan to use solar power assumes the importance given unreliable electricity supply in different parts of the country, especially in rural India. The country has an aim to have 100GW of solar power generation capacity by the year 2022 with a significant focus on rooftop solar & decentralized solar installation.

  • Gulab Cyclone: Education Institutions to Remain Close in Telangana

    CM K Chandrashekar Rao has announced that all the government offices, colleges, schools & educational institutions to remain closed on 28th September (Tuesday) in the wake of heavy rainfall caused by Cyclone Gulab.
