Fuel Price Update on May 28, 2022: On Saturday, Fuel Prices Remained Steady; Check the latest Pricing Here
For the sixth day in a row, petrol and diesel prices have remained steady on Saturday, May 28. Last Sunday, May 22nd, was the last time petrol and diesel prices fell. On May 21, the Centre reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per liter and diesel by Rs 6 per liter. The reduction in excise duty has brought the price of a liter of petrol and diesel down by Rs 9.5 and Rs 7, respectively, as a result of the reduction in excise duty.

Students Protest Against Fuel Price Hike in Nepal
Nepalese student unions have marched to the streets to protest the recent increase in the price of petroleum products and have requested that the increase be reversed. On Wednesday afternoon, demonstrators from Nepal Student Union, the All Nepal Free Students Union, All Nepal National Independent Student Union (Revolutionary), and other student unions yelled slogans outside the corporation's office. Petrol, diesel, kerosene, aviation fuel, and cooking gas prices were all raised by the state-owned monopolist on Sunday.

Farmers in Jalandhar are Protesting Against the Government's Attempt to Take their Lands
Hundreds of farmers from Punjab's Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KSCM) protested in support of landowners in Chak Bahmaniyan and Thammuwal villages on Friday. Sukhwinder Singh Sabhra, the KSCM state organizing secretary, and Salwinder Singh Jania, the district president, led the demonstration. Farmers, laborers, women supporters, the elderly, and children flocked to the protest site in large numbers to voice their opposition to the villages' land being taken over.

During the farmer's grievances redressal meeting held at the District Collectorate here on Friday, Collector S Visakan declared that those who plant the most saplings in their region will be granted a certificate of merit. He went on to say that palm trees are really valuable and useful to everyone.
