• Rs. 4800 Crore food subsidy for Chhattisgarh

  Chhattisgarh has been given a subsidy of Rs. 4800 by the Central Government. Rice procurement operations are going on in the state and Chhattisgarh had requested for increase in the capping amount for procurement for the Central pool. This demand has not been accepted by the Central government.

• GDP grows at 0.4 percent in third Quarter

  GDP has grown at 0.4 percent in the third quarter of 2020-21 and economy is back to pre-pandemic times. High activity levels in the economy have resumed. There has been significant recovery in the manufacturing and construction sectors. This has been possible due to good handling by the government of Pandemic and lockdown.

• BJP has gone against the farmers

  Farmers agitation leader, Tikait, has said that supporting BJP was a mistake not to be repeated and all farmers must cut any ties with BJP. He said BJP has gone against the farmers and has not come true on its election promises. He said farmers will stop protests only after their demands are met.

• Sudden rise in Corona Cases in Delhi

  Around 250 new Corona cases have been registered in Delhi in last 24 hours, alarming the government and the population. It is hoped that this spike is an anomaly and rise in cases will not continue.

• Indian Sugar exports to fall

  Indian sugar exports are expected to fall by 5 million tons due to shortage of containers to ship the sugar abroad. This may allow competitor countries to take India's place in the market. The container availability has been affected by the pandemic and global tensions. Containers are unavailable even at higher prices.

• Tea prices drop

  Tea prices have fallen despite low production of tea this year. The reason for this price drop is subdued demand, cause of which is not yet known.

• American Rescue Plan to give $1.9 trillion for Corona relief work

  The American Rescue Plan, proposed by President Joe Biden, has been passed by the house of representatives. The plan will provide 1.9 trillion dollars to the American government to be used for Corona relief. This plan will pay for vaccinations and medical supplies and for emergency financial aid to the suffering public or organizations, be it private or governmental.

• Michelle Bachelet criticises India on farmers protest

  Michelle Bachelet, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, has criticised India's handling of farmer protest. She said curbing the freedom of expression on social media is unethical. She said arrest of journalists on charges of sedition should not be allowed in a democracy.
