  • PM Kisan 13th Installment: Hurry Up! Just 1 Day Left to Complete e-KYC Verification

    The government released the last installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi popularly known as PM Kisan in October and now farmers are eagerly waiting for the 13th instalment. In order to avail payment, the government has asked all the beneficiaries to complete the e-KYC verification.

     

  • Budget 2023-24: CropLife India Urges Govt. to Reduce High GST Rates on Agrochemicals

    Budget 2023: In order to increase the emphasis on Innovation and Research & Development, which would help the farmer, CropLife India, an organization of 16 R&D-driven crop science companies, recommended the government: follow a uniform basic customs tariff of 10% for both technical raw materials and formulations; provide a 200% weighted deduction for R&D expenses involved by agrochemical industries, and lower the GST on agrochemicals from 18% to 12%.

     

  • Nigeria Has Potential to Become a Model of South-South Cooperation on Millets: Abhilaksh Likhi

    A high-Level Indian Delegation led by Abhilaksh Likhi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is in Abuja, Nigeria to strengthen South-South Association and Cooperation on Millets to next level. Talking to media, Likhi said that the visit comes in the wake of India kick starting the International Year of Millets (IYoM) 2023 on the very first day of this year with Focused Activities being undertaken by Central Ministries, State/UT Governments and Indian Embassies.

     

  • Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya Launches India’s First Intra-Nasal Covid-19 Vaccine ‘iNCOVACC’

    The iNNCOVACC COVID-19 vaccine was unveiled by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, in the presence of Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (IC) for Science and Technology. The first intranasal COVID-19 vaccine to be approved for both a heterologous booster dose and a primary 2-dose schedule is iNNCOVACC. It is created in collaboration between Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) and Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance (BIRAC), a PSU that falls under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology.

     

  • Amid Farmers’ Protest, Haryana Chief Minister Announces Hike in Sugarcane Prices

    Long protests and resistance from Haryana farmers pushed the Haryana Govt. to finally fix the State Approved Prices for Sugarcane for the new season. CM announced a hike of Rs. 10 from Rs. 362 to Rs. 372 per quintal whereas the farmers demanded a rise of Rs. 450 per quintal. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday promised an increase in the price of sugarcane, two days after senior BKU leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni urged farmers to attend the planned protest of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on January 29 and yell anti-BJP remarks.
