  • Rajasthan will have separate budget on agriculture from next year, says CM, Ashok Gehlot

    Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot while presenting the state budget on 24th Feb 2021 announced that from next year there will be a separate budget on agriculture. Gehlot also announced a separate agriculture electricity distribution firm for providing power exclusively to cultivators for agriculture purposes.

  • Record paddy procured during current Kharif Marketing Season

    In the ongoing Kharif Marketing Season or KMS 2020-21, Centre continues to buy Kharif 2020-21 crops at Minimu Support Price from farmers as per existing MSP Schemes, as was done in last seasons.

  • Pulses, Onion, Edible Oil prices increases in February

    Wholesale onion prices in February are ruling 25 percent to 30 percent higher than in January. Pulses and wholesale edible oil prices too, have increased helped by government measures to improve farmers’ income such as import restrictions & procurement at MSP.

  • Hailstorm Alert over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal and Uttarakhand

    According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated hailstorms is likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad on Thursday i.e. 25 February 2021 and over Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand on Friday, 26 February 2021.

    An orange alert has been issued over J&K and Ladakh on Thursday & over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on Friday.

  • State budgets to focus on agriculture

    Following continuing agitations by farmers the State budgets will focus on agriculture, to pacify the farmers and to explain government's stand.

  • Export more to double farmer's income

    Increasing the export of Indian farm goods is seen as one of the methods to double farmer's income in a few years time. Farmers will be given export incentives and support through trade negotiations with destination markets.

  • Kazakhstan to disallow foreign ownership of land

    Kazakhstan has banned foreign ownership and renting of farmlands. This ban has been enforced after many anti-government protests .
