  • Rallis India Limited announced its financial results for the first quarter of the financial year starting April 2022

    Rallis India Limited, a TATA Enterprise and a leading player in the Indian Agri inputs industry announced its financial results for the first quarter of the financial year starting April 2022. Sanjiv Lal, Managing Director, and CEO, Rallis India said, “In Q1, we witnessed a strong growth of domestic crop care business and 51% growth in exports. Our long-term focus continues to be investing in growth through new product introduction, expanding our retail footprint and investing in flexible Multipurpose manufacturing plants for multiple chemistry capabilities required for our new product pipeline” he added.
  • Karnataka To Launch Cow Adoption Scheme from Goshalas

    On July 28, the state government of Karnataka will introduce a cow adoption scheme, said Prabhu Bhamla Chavan, Minister of Animal Husbandry. This will encourage public and private organizations to adopt cattle from goshalas. In a statement to the media, Chavan stated, "Our government is eager to launch the "Punyakoti Dattu Yojana" for the first time in the nation to encourage adoption by public and private organisations for the purpose of nurturing and growing the cattle in cow sheds to maintain the herd. On July 28, Basavaraj Bommai will celebrate his one-year anniversary as chief minister, and a ceremony will mark the occasion.

    The Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre, IIT Kanpur's technology business incubator, is launching the NIRMAN Accelerator Programme, which is supported by the Government of India's Department of Science and Technology. Under the programme, 15 start-ups will be chosen and given the opportunity to accelerate their product's journey from lab to market. The top performing start-ups from the cohort of 15 will receive a cash prize of up to Rs 10 lakhs.

  • BASF announced in Brazil the launch of the fungicide Zampro

    BASF announced in Brazil the launch of the fungicide Zampro which was officially presented to the market during the 27th edition of Hortitec – the largest fair in the horticulture, protected cultivation, and intensive crops sector in Latin America. Zampro is the new fungicide indicated for the control and management of diseases such as late blight and mildew and can be used in different cultures, with emphasis on the application in tomato, grape, and potato crops.

  • OSMA Urges Govt to Limit Comber Noil Exports to Meet Domestic Needs

    The Open-end Spinning Mills Association (OSMA) has urged the Central Government to allow the export of comber noil, a byproduct of the yarn spinning process that is used in a variety of applications, only after domestic needs have been met.  As per Arul Mozhi, President of the Coimbatore-based Open-end Spinning Mills Association, the Indian government should ensure that the export of comber noil is permitted when it is available in excess after meeting the commodity's domestic demand.

  • China Backs India's Wheat Export Ban at WTO

    China openly backed India at a recent WTO agriculture meeting, where rich nations slammed New Delhi yet again for its wheat export ban. "China's representative said that targeting India was wrong, especially since the goal of New Delhi's wheat export regulation was also to ensure that it could continue to supply countries and neighbours with which it had signed agreements," as per a Geneva-based trade official.
