  • National Workshop on Role of Agri Start-ups in Honey Value Chain held in Varanasi

    National Bee Board (NBB), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, in collaboration with National Seed Research and Training Centre (NSRTC) Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, organized a National Workshop on the Role of Agri Start-ups in Honey Value Chain at NSRTC Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Beekeepers, honey Startups and FPOs, stakeholders in beekeeping, officials from various Ministries/ Government Organizations/ Institutes, State Departments of Horticulture, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs)/ Central Agricultural Universities (CAUs), etc participated in the workshop.

  • Lumpy Skin Disease: Vaccination Drive to Begin in Delhi Soon

    Around 18.5 lakh cattle have been affected due to Lumpy skin disease so far, this shows how fast this virus is spreading all over the country. Moreover, the Delhi government has also logged 358 cases of LSD in the last two weeks, most of which are in stray cattle. An official from the animal husbandry department informed that Delhi has recorded a total of 531 cases, out of which 206 cattle have recovered from it but the number of active cases still stands at 325. 

  • Jeffry Rebello Elected as the President of United Planters’ Association of South India

    Jeffry Rebello, former chairman of Karnataka Planters’ Association, has been elected as the President of the United Planters’ Association of South India (UPASI) for the year 2022-23. His appointment was made at the 129th annual general meeting of the United Planters’ Association of India held in Coonoor in Nilgiris district on Monday. Jeffry Rebello, present at the meeting, extended the vote of thanks to honorable guests and members for their esteemed presence and also for making the annual conference a success.

  • Kharif Production is Estimated to Drop by 2% for the Crop Year 2022-23, Origo Commodities

    Kharif Production in India is likely to drop this year. As per the latest estimate of Origo Commodities, India's Total Kharif Crop Production for the crop year 2022-23 is estimated at 640.42 MMT, which is 2% lower than the same period last year. As per Rajiv Yadav, Sr. VP, Origo Commodities, first time in the history of our growth journey, they are going to launch Origo Kharif Crop Estimate for the Crop Year 2022-23 to arrive at a more realistic crop size/number. 

  • Youngest on the Hurun Rich India List, 19-year-old Teenager Debuts in the Rs 1000 crore Club

    Bengaluru-based, 19 year old, Kaivalya Vohra, (CTO, Zepto), and Aadit Palicha, (CEO and co-founder), the youngest self-made millionaires with a net worth of Rs 1000 crore, (rank 1036) and Rs 1200 crore, (rank 950), respectively, entered the Hurun Rich India List 2022 with an overall net worth of over Rs 2000 crore.

  • Deep Rooted Raises $12.5 M Series-A Round from IvyCap & Accel

    Deep Rooted, India's leading farm-to-consumer (F2C) brand for fruits and vegetables, announced today that it has raised USD 12.5 million in Series A funding. The round was led by IvyCap Ventures with participation from existing investors including Accel, Omnivore, and Mayfield.
