  • Mumbai Rains Update: NDRF deploys five teams in the city

    Mumbai is receiving continuous rainfall since yesterday after IMD predicted extremely heavy rains in the region. The rainfall that started on 22 September, has inundated many areas, including low-lying areas in Sion, Dadar, Wadala of Mumbai. According to IMD, areas in south Mumbai and western & northern suburbs such as Andheri, Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Borivali and Malad received around 70 mm rainfall since 22nd September. NDRF has also deployed five teams in the city.

  • India coronavirus Live Update: After Pune and Delhi, Bengaluru crosses 2 lakh Covid-19 Cases

    Bengaluru, on Tuesday, became the third city in the country to have more than two lakh people infected with novel coronavirus. The city reported a little over 3,000 new cases on Tuesday to go past the two lakh-mark. Only Pune and Delhi have more people infected with the virus.

  • CACP Suggests Cash Fertiliser Subsidy of Rs 5,000 per year for farmers

    The Commission for Agricultural Costs & Prices or CACP, who is the government’s advisor on MSP for major farm products, has recommended a cash fertiliser subsidy to growers to the tune of Rs 5,000 per year. The panel said this must be done in 2 tranches of Rs 2,500 each i.e. in the kharif & rabi seasons.

  • SBI to monetise its digital banking platform Yono 

    The country's biggest lender, State Bank of India, is in the process to monetise its digital banking app Yono. SBI wants to hive off Yono as a separate entity which allows smaller lenders such as small finance banks & regional rural banks to use it. SBI chairman Rajnish Kumar said at a CII event that “The work has started.”

    Gucci is the top fashion brand known for their high-quality leather products and gaudy patterns. Now, the brand has unveiled in its Fall/Winter collection this year, jeans having a tinge of green on them that looks like grass stain. These have been priced at $1,200 (Rs 88,290). Gucci has described the jeans as "Channelling the Fall Winter 2020 collection's grunge vibe, this wide-leg denim pant is crafted from organic cotton specifically treated for a stained-like, distressed effect."  

  • Covid-19 Vaccine: Bharat Biotech to make a billion doses of an intranasal adenovirus vaccine

    Hyderabad-headquartered Bharat Biotech has recently announced that it would be manufacturing up to a billion doses of a single-dose intranasal Covid-19 vaccine in collaboration with the Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Missouri. The agreement is expected to help overcome potential difficulties with distributing the vaccine, like the high cost of vaccination or a possible shortage of personnel to administer the doses to the required population.
