  • Best Agrolife Ltd. First Agrochemical Company in India to Manufacture Pyroxasulfone Technical

    Best Agrolife Limited, a leading player in the Indian agrochemical industry, has been granted registration for the indigenous manufacturing of Pyroxasulfone technical by the Central Insecticides Board & Registration Committee in the 440th meeting. With this Best Agrolife Limited (BAL) will become the first Indian agrochemical company to manufacture Pyroxasulfone Technical in India. Under the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, it will be manufactured indigenously and will be easily available to farmers.   • Godrej Agrovet Signs MoUs with Assam, Manipur & Tripura

    Godrej Agrovet announced that it has signed three MOUs with Assam, Manipur and Tripura state governments for the development and promotion of oil palm cultivation in the region under the National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm scheme.

  • Cardamom Sector Bets on Festive Season To Boost Demand

    With prices showing some improvement, the cardamom sector is pinning hopes on the upcoming Onam and Diwali festival season for the demand to pick up from the upcountry markets. The first round of harvest has already started in plantations in Idukki in the first week of August and farmers are expecting a normal crop in this season. It must be noted that dry weather in June and continuous rains in July have led to the postponement of the harvest to August from the June-July period.

  • ‘Ghar ghar ration’ Scheme To Start In Punjab From October 2

    The Punjab government’s ‘ghar ghar ration’ scheme will be implemented from October 2 and about 1.54 crore people will benefit from it. Under the doorstep ration delivery scheme, the Aam Aadmi Party government would deliver wheat flour, packed in bags, at the beneficiaries’ doorstep. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak said in a conference it is the government’s endeavour that within seven days of grinding wheat in the mill, the flour should be delivered to all the houses, which will have a good effect on their health.

    The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) and organised a training-cum-workshop camp in Shirdi, Maharashtra, and urged farmers to adopt zero-budget natural farming as part of the 'Arth Ganga Campaign.' G Ashok Kumar, Director General, NMCG, attended the workshop held last week in the presence of Subhash Palekar, a renowned agriculturalist known to the farming community as 'Krishi ka Rishi.' He is the promoter of the 'Zero Budget Natural Farming' technique, which is now known as Subhash Palekar Farming in India.

    Marathwada Vidarbha Turmeric Trade Association has written a letter to the union minister of state for finance Pankaj Choudhary, demanding a ban on trading in the turmeric futures market on the NCDEX and BSE. The association alleged that some traders and corporates are making a profit. The prices are being decided according to the convenience of the futures price, it said, and the farmers of Maharashtra are facing a lot of loss.
