    To prevent a sudden increase in retail onion prices, the Centre announced on Friday that it has begun offloading the buffer stock in a calibrated and targeted manner to states where prices have risen in recent months. The buffer stock is being released even in Maharashtra's Lasalgaon and Pimpalgaon wholesale onion mandis to supplement supplies in these areas, according to a statement from the Consumer Affairs Ministry. The states had been offered onion for Rs 21/kg ex-storage locations, according to the ministry. The Mother Dairy's Safal shops were also supplied at Rs 26/kg, including transportation costs, according to the statement.

  • NTPC Pays Interim Dividend of Rs 3,879 Cr for 2021-22

    For the financial year 2021-22, the state-owned power company NTPC issued an interim dividend of Rs 3,878.67 crore. The dividend is equal to 40% of the company's paid-up equity share capital, according to a statement. NTPC has paid a dividend for the 29th consecutive year. The company's total installed capacity is 67,832.30 MW, comprising 23 coal-fired, 7 gas-fired, 1 hydro-electric, and 19 renewable energy projects. NTPC has 9 coal-fired, 4 gas-fired, 8 hydro, and 5 renewable energy projects in joint venture.
