  • Bihar Election 2020: BJP promises 19 lakh jobs in its manifesto 

    BJP today promised 19 lakh jobs and free coronavirus vaccination for all in its manifesto for the Bihar election 2020 starting next week. The party also stressed that ally Nitish Kumar will be Chief Minister for the next five years. In an attempt to that opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav promised of 10 lakh government jobs, the BJP's "Sankalp Patra" resolves to generate 19 lakh job opportunities. 

  • Andhra Pradesh 3rd Kisan Rail chugs off for Delhi with fruits 

    A month after the 2nd Kisan Rail chugged off from Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, the 3rd one set off to New Delhi on October 21, which also extended the Ministry of Food Processing Industries 50% transportation tariff concession scheme on notified fruits & vegetables. Kisan Rail is the brainchild of the Centre aimed at boosting farmer’s income by providing a hassle-free transportation service to market agriculture sector. 

  • PM Modi sends good wishes to Amit Shah on his 56th birthday 

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Amit Shah for his "dedication and excellence" towards India's progress. Modi expressed his views while extending wishes to Shah on his 56th birthday. "Birthday wishes to Amit Shah Ji. Our nation is witnessing the dedication and excellence with which he is contributing towards India's progress," the Prime Minister tweeted. 

  • Can't suppress material facts while taking life insurance: SC 

    The Supreme Court has said that a contract of insurance is of utmost good faith & a proposer who is keen to get a policy of life insurance is duty-bound to disclose all material facts. A bench comprising Justices D. Y. Chandrachud, Indira Banerjee and Indu Malhotra said, "A contract of insurance is one of utmost good faith. A proposer who seeks to obtain a policy of life insurance is duty-bound to disclose all material facts bearing upon the issue as to whether the insurer would consider it appropriate to assume the risk which is proposed." 

  • PM inaugurates Durga Puja festivities in Bengal 

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the BJP was committed to empowering women, and the government has taken several steps to give benefits to all sections. He said this during his virtual address after inaugurating the Durga Puja festivities in West Bengal. Modi during his virtual address said, "The government is working towards providing basic infrastructure to people in West Bengal, 30 lakh poor have been provided houses under the PMAY and in the Ujjwala scheme 90 lakh connections have been provided." 

  • Telangana's COVID-19 tally crosses 2.27 lakh 

    Telangana's COVID-19 tally crossed 2.27 lakh on Thursday as the state reported 1,456 new cases during the last 24 hours. Health officials said the fresh cases pushed the cumulative number to 2,27,580. Of this only 20,183 cases are active, including 16,977 who are in the home or institutional isolation. 

  • Congress acting as a lobbyist for the anti-farmer forces: Suresh Bhardwaj

    Suresh Bhardwaj Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Minister on Thursday lashed out at the Congress for misleading farmers on the farm bills and alleged that the party was acting as a lobbyist for anti-farmer forces. He told the farm laws will revolutionise the agriculture sector in the coming times. Bhardwaj in a statement said, "Congress is misleading the farmers. It is playing in the hands of a handful of people who had earlier been exploiting the agrarian community".

  • Centre relaxes visa rules; OCI & PIO cardholders can visit India 

    Centre has permitted all OCI, PIO cardholders and other foreign nationals to visit India for any purpose, except on tourist visa. The relaxations will also include flights operated under Vande Bharat Mission, Air Transport Bubble arrangements.  The MHA has issued a statement saying that "It has been decided to permit all OCI & PIO cardholders and all other foreign nationals intending to visit India for any purpose, except on a tourist visa to enter by air or water routes through authorized airports and seaport immigration check posts." 

     

  • Acer launches world's first Snapdragon 7c powered Chromebook 

    Acer has introduced its first Chromebooks powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c compute platform - the Acer Chromebook Spin 513 & Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 513. The 513 would be available in North America in February 2021 starting at $399.99; the Enterprise Spin 513 is coming in March 2021 starting at $699.99.
