World Water Day Programme Highlights Importance of Water for Peace at ICAR-IARI
World Water Day, since its inception back in 1993, has become an annual event celebrated every March 22nd, aiming to educate people about the significance of freshwater. The main goal of World Water Day is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6, which advocates for universal access to clean water and sanitation by 2030. The ICAR-IARI also celebrated World Water Day 2024 on this Year’s Theme – ‘Water for Peace’ at Water Technology Centre Auditorium, ICAR-IARI New Delhi.

UN Report Highlights Global Water Crisis Threatening World Peace
A new report published by UNESCO, on behalf of UN-Water, today on 22 March 2024, has underscored the alarming reality that a significant portion of the world's population still lacks access to safe drinking water and sanitation. Despite international efforts, the goal of ensuring universal access to these basic necessities by 2030 remains elusive, with 2.2 billion people deprived of safely managed drinking water and 3.5 billion lacking access to proper sanitation facilities.

These hatcheries, distributed across 10 locations in 8 districts, serve as vital hubs for collecting data on temperature variations and heavy rainfall patterns, ensuring the optimal conditions for turtle nesting.
