  • Delhi-NCR Receives Heavy Rainfall; Temperature Drops  

    Delhi/NCR received heavy rainfall on Wednesday with many areas in the national capital reporting incidents of water-logging. As per reports, traffic was affected on Guru Ravidass Marg, Girdhari Lal Marg, under Mayapuri flyover, under Prahlad Pur flyover, from Narayana to Loha Mandi, Dhaulakuan to Gurugram, among other areas in city due to water-logging. In addition, temperature in Delhi dropped to 28 degree Celsius after heavy downpour. IMD had predicted moderate to heavy rainfall for Delhi & some parts of Haryana today.

    On Monday, a number of farmers from different organisations held a "tractor march" in Ludhiana protesting against 3 ordinances introduced by the Centre and fuel price hike. The three ordinances against which the farmers are protesting are - The Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion & Facilitation) Ordinance, 2020; The Farmers (Empowerment & Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance & Farm Services Ordinance, 2020 & The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020.

    Covid-19 Live Updates: The number of coronavirus infections has crossed 15 million all over the world till Wednesday, as per Reuters. At present, there are 15,009,213 cases of Coronavirus, at least triple the number of severe influenza illnesses recorded yearly. The country worst hit by Covid-19 is the US, followed by Brazil. India is at the third position with 37,724 new cases of coronavirus & 648 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Jammu and Kashmir administration has imposed a 6-day lockdown across the Valley, except for Bandipore district, to prevent the spread of virus.
