Telangana Govt to Provide Rs 7600 cr to Farmers Under ‘Rythu Bandhu’ Scheme
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced on Sunday the distribution of farm investment support of Rs.5,000 per acre to over 65 lakh eligible farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme for the Yasangi (Rabi) season, which could bring cheer to farmers across Telangana in the New Year. The funds will be deposited into the farmer's bank account beginning December 28. The Chief Minister also directed Finance Minister T Harish Rao and other officials to release Rs.7,600 crore in this regard and to ensure that the funds are disbursed before the January Sankranti festival.

Jammu & Kashmir: Researchers Modernizing Saffron Cultivation to Improve Yield
Saffron is grown in four districts of Jammu and Kashmir: Pulwama, Budgam, Srinagar, and Kishtwar. Pampore in the Pulwama district has earned the title of Kashmir's "saffron town" for producing the highest quality saffron. The soil quality in this area is ideal for cultivation, yielding the prized "Kashmiri saffron," which is known for its aroma, colour, and medicinal value. The scientists at SKUAST were successful in producing indoor saffron to promote the saffron crop. Because of its purity, Kashmiri saffron is well-known throughout the world. Even though it is considered one of the most expensive spices, but its fragrance attracts people including tourists for purchasing it.

Agri Minister Tomar to Host ‘Millet-Only’ Lunch for MPs on Dec 20, PM Modi to Attend
Millets are now grown in over 130 countries and are the traditional food of over a billion people in Asia & Africa. The major producers of jowar are the United States, China, Australia, India, Argentina, Nigeria, and Sudan. Another important millet crop is bajra, grown primarily in India and some African countries. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend this lunch on the grounds of the Parliament. According to sources, special chefs from Karnataka have been brought in to prepare ragi specialties such as Idli and ragi Dosa.

Goa Becomes 3rd State in India to Release Drone Policy
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or unmanned aircraft systems (UASs), usually referred to as 'drones', are small aircraft that can fly remotely. Key economic sectors like mining, surveillance, emergency response, transportation, geospatial mapping, law enforcement, aerial photography, filmmaking, and especially the agriculture sector can all benefit from the use of drones. Recently, the Goa Drone Policy was announced by the state administration, making it the third state in the nation to do so in an effort to turn it into a drone manufacturing powerhouse.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries Briefs Parliament About Food Processing Sector's Contribution to GDP
Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Prahlad Singh Patel in a written reply in Lok Sabha today briefed about the contribution of the food processing sector to the country's GDP (Gross domestic product). According to the statement, with a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 7.27 per cent, the Gross Value Addition (GVA) in the food processing sector climbed from Rs. 1.79 lakh crore in 2016–17 to Rs. 2.37 lakh crore in 2020–21. For the purpose of growing GDP contribution and job opportunities, there is no target established for the food processing industry, the minister noted, however, 12.2 per cent of jobs in the recognized manufacturing sector are contributed by the food processing industry.
