  • 1.22 Crore KCC Sanctioned with Credit Limit of Rs. 102,065 Crore: Ministry of Finance

    The finance ministry today (20th August 2020) said that a total of 1.22 crore KCC or Kisan Credit Cards have been sanctioned with a credit limit of Rs. 1,02,065 crore.

    The finance ministry in a statement said "In an effort to buffer the farm sector from the shock of COVID-19 pandemic, a special saturation drive is underway to offer concessional credit to farmers through Kisan Credit Card (KCC). As on 17th August, 1.22 crore KCCs have been sanctioned with credit limit of Rs.102,065 crore".

  • Weather Update: Rain in Delhi-NCR to continue till Friday

    The head of the India Meteorological Department’s regional forecasting centre, Kuldeep Srivastava told PTI that moderate rains would continue till tomorrow morning and thereafter. The city will then witness on & off light rainfall. Srivastava said that another spell of rain will start from 25 August. IMD said that thunderstorms along with rains will continue in the National capital and nearby areas.

    Delhi has been witnessing continuous rainfall since morning and flight operation at IGI Airport might be affected due to this, according to Delhi Air Traffic Control’s or ATC’s warning that was issued to all airline carriers.

     

  • Coronavirus latest updates: India records 28 lakh confirmed Covid-19 cases

    India, so far, has recorded 28,36,925 confirmed Coronavirus cases, including 53,866 deaths. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have reported the highest number of Covid-19 cases. On the other hand, infections are increasing rapidly in states like Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and West Bengal. Yet, country’s recovery rate continues to rise & now stands at 73.9%.

    Currently 'Unlock 3.0' is ongoing. Globally, there have been more than 2.22 crore confirmed cases of Coronavirus while over 7.81 lakh people have died so far.

  • Tamil Nadu asks Centre to increase MSP for milling copra to Rs. 125 a kg

    Tamil Nadu government has asked the Central government to consider revision of the Minimum Support Price or MSP for milling copra from Rs. 99.60 to at least Rs. 125/kg for the current 2020 copra season to protect the interest of coconut growers. The Centre had set the MSP for crops like ragi, paddy and pulses at 150% of the cost of cultivation.
