Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has been vaccinated for COVID-19. He tweeted that Indian doctors and scientist have done remarkable work in fight against the pandemic. He urged to make India Corona free.

PM details importance of water in "Mann Ki Baat"
PM said as we pass from winter to summer, we need to make every effort to conserve water. He said he looked forward to "World Water Day" in March. He said water is life, faith and is part of our development. Without water nothing is possible. He said rivers, ponds and ground water are for everyone.

Mobile app succeeds in monitoring and predictive analysis of prices
The Department of Consumer Affairs is monitoring the price of 22 essential food commodities through the app. This app provides market intelligence, predictive analysis of prices and helps in developing price forecasting model. For retail price reporting, prices of same variety of a commodity are collected from all type of markets.

PM addresses webinar on Agriculture Budget
PM talked of empowerment of poverty-ridden farmers. This will work as driving force of rural economy. He talked about processing in dairy sector. The rural dairy farmers should have modern storage facilities, so that they can compete with other farmers. Processing should be handled by FPOs. Farmers should have access to all type of markets. Processing is particularly important for fisheries.

PM, Narendra Modi, has said that private sector must invest more in R&D in agriculture sector. This will provide more options to the farmers in what they can grow. He believes that private sector participation will raise the confidence level of the farmers.

Government finalizes "One District One Focus Product"
Every farming district in India specializes in one product. Government has listed the districts versus the focus product i.e. the products they produce best. The implementation of this scheme is intended to improve the income of the farmers. ICAR and state governments have helped the Central government in making this list. The focus product also after value addition or processing will provide additional income. All these factors will be kept in mind when schemes are made or implemented for these districts.

Nicaraguan coffee - a crumbling business
Climate change and the pandemic has greatly affected the Nicaraguan Coffee business. Coffee beans plants have been affected either by the weather or pests or both leading to loss of crops. The crops have even suffered disease in some regions. Hurricanes destroyed half of the coffee crops last winter. Many of the farmers have had to think about alternative crops.

Ongoing farmers protest block the highways to National Capital
Farmers, who are protesting on the highways connecting Delhi to Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, have blocked the incoming and outgoing traffic on these highways. However there are some highways with no protesters which can be used by commuters.
