Youths returning to rural areas with new ideas
Youths have moved from rural to urban or semi-urban areas to look for employment over the last century. However this trend is now reversing with youths returning to their villages as they can earn the same or more from their farms. Also these villages provide higher quality of life than the overcrowded and polluted cities. These youngsters having acquired new ideas and knowledge are able to grow and manage their farms better. This is being seen as a positive trend all across India.

Book by Dr. Mohan Kanda released by the Vice President
‘Agriculture in India: Contemporary Challenges - in the Context of Doubling Farmers Income’, a book by Dr. Mohan Kanda was released yesterday by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. This book lists and explains the latest farming issues and as the name suggests ways to increase the income of farmers. The Vice President hopes that this book will guide the decision makers, so that India is no longer reliant on anyone and self sufficient.

Vice President congratulates farmers for high productivity
Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India congratulated farmers on the good work done by them during the pandemic by making sure that the production of crops doesn't drop. Instead the crop production this year is better than last year with agriculture now a bigger part of the GDP.

Indian government is conducting a survey on migrant workers in India, so as to understand their issues and work for their benefit. A software has been launched by the government, which will aid in the data collection for this survey. This survey will take into account the economic and working conditions of these migrant workers.

Protestors have announced if their demands are not met till May they will march to the Parliament on foot. The agitated farmers are have tried all methods to bring attention of the government and general public to their cause. They are trying to convince that they will protest through non-violent means.
