  • HP Launches ‘Trees for Wealth’ to Promote Horticulture in the State

    Himachal Pradesh has started an ambitious scheme called "Trees for Wealth" to plant fruit trees in the arid region in the Shivalik range in Una District to increase the amount of space available for horticulture production. According to rural development minister Virender Kanwar, the initiative under the Himachal Pradesh Subtropical Horticulture, Irrigation, and Value Addition Project (HPSHIVA) intends to transform the Shivalik region into a "fruit hub" in the style of Himachal Pradesh's high hills.

    Karnataka Agriculture Minister B.C. Patil officially inaugurated Krishi Mela at the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) Dharwad on Sunday. During the Krishi mela, he told that the Karnataka government intends to provide farmers using tractors with diesel subsidies just as those provided to the fishermen.

India is currently hosting the ITPGRFA session, often known as the Plant or Seed Treaty.

  • Farmers in This State are Getting Subsidy up to Rs 10 Lakh to Promote Post-Harvest Operations

    To support post-harvest operations, including the establishment of food processing industries in the micro sector, Kolkata’s Food Processing Industries & Horticulture (FPI&H) department is providing a subsidy up to the amount of Rs. 10 lakhs. The subsidy, which will increase the capacity of food processors working to upscale their operations through capital infusion, technology transfer, skill upgradation, and handholding support, was recently approved by the Cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, state FPI&H minister Subrata Saha announced at the state Assembly.
