  • Government to Start Rs. 500 crore Accelerator Programme for Agri Startups: Tomar

    Tomar said that a high-level steering committee would be formed under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister for overall guidance of the Agriculture Startup ecosystem. A Rs. 500 crore accelerator programme for taking forward and popularizing the successful initiatives of Agri Startups will also be started. The minister announced that an Executive Committee will be set up under the chairmanship of Secretary Agriculture, comprising of concerned agencies such as DARE, DPIIT, agricultural incubators and knowledge partners, agricultural universities, research institutes, top investors and other stakeholders.

  • Lumpy Skin Disease: Punjab Allows Interstate Cattle Movement as LSD Cases Decline

    The decision was taken by the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Tuesday after carefully examining the ongoing relief efforts to control the Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in the state. The GoM includes Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, and Animal Husbandry Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar.

    Farmers can apply online for the pension scheme if they are above 18 years and below 65 years & have an annual income below Rs 5 lakh. The applicant must also have at least five cents worth of land to meet the requirements. Those who own more than 15 acres of land, however, are ineligible for the scheme.

  • PM Ujjwala Yojana Beneficiaries to Get 2 Free LPG Cylinders from Government

    Vaghani said that two free LPG cylinders will be provided to the citizens and housewives with a relief of Rs. 1,000 crores. This LPG subsidy will reach the beneficiary's account within three days of cylinder purchase. "Under the Ujjwala scheme, LPG connections have been provided to almost 38 lakh families. Each of these families will receive two gas cylinders annually from the state government. The government will have to pay 650 crores for this each year,” he said.
