  • Weather Update: 16 Killed due to Heavy Rainfall in Uttarakhand

    As many as 16 people have been killed due to heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for a third straight day today (19 Oct).  Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "Prime Minister & Home Minister have been briefed on the situation. Houses, bridges etc. have been destroyed and 16 people have died so far. 3(Army) helicopters to be deployed for rescue operations". 

    According to the IMD, moderate to severe thunderstorms accompanied with lightning & gusty winds is likely in the state today.

     

  • Prices of vegetables increases due to high fuel price, heavy rainfall

    Prices of vegetables, mainly onion & tomato, are rising in many states including Delhi on the back of higher fuel prices & damage caused to summer crops because of heavy rainfall. Prices of edible oil also continue to be dearer due to high prices, prompting the Centre to tighten measures like requiring traders to reveal stocks. 

     

  • Bharatiya Janata party holds rally amid farmers’ protest

    Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) held its first rally on Monday (18 Oct) for the Ellenabad bypoll that is scheduled for 30th October to support its nominee Gobind Kanda at Kagdana village amid Kisan Andolan.
