  • Monsoon 2020 Expected to Arrive in Delhi around 25 June: IMD

    According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), conditions could become favourable for the advancement of southwest monsoon in Delhi and adjoining Haryana around 25th June 2020 even though it is unlikely to progress further till 21st June.

    The weather department said that conditions might also become favorable for its advance into Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand & parts of the western Himalayan region between 22 June and 24 June.

  • When, Where and How to See Solar Eclipse 2020

    On Sunday, 21st June 2020, some parts of the world will be witnessing the solar eclipse, as the sun turns into a ‘ring of fire’. The event usually takes place when the moon is at its farthest point from the earth in its orbit & passes between the earth & the sun. It is also called the annual solar eclipse. The full solar eclipse would be visible to people in some parts of China, Congo, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Pakistan and India. The event will start in Central Africa and parts of China would be the last areas to witness it.

  • Centre Mulls Increasing Minimum Selling Price of Sugar

    Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey on Thursday said that the Centre is considering a proposal to hike the minimum selling price (MSP) of sugar from Rs 31/kg to help millers clear cane dues of around Rs 22,000 crore to growers. Pandey said the measures being taken by the Centre will ensure early clearance of substantial cane arrears to the cultivators.

  • China Releases 10 Indian Soldiers after Intense Talks & Negotiations 

    Intense negotiations & 3 round of talks through military & diplomatic channels between senior military officers have led to release of 10 Indian army soldiers. Chinese detained these soldiers during the violent brawl in Galwan Valley on June 15th 2020. Due to concerns for the safety of the soldiers amid the heightened tensions between the two sides, these negotiations were kept tightly under wraps. 

  • With Highest Single Day Spike of 13,586 cases, India’s tally crosses 3 lakhs 80 thousand 

    On Friday, India saw another record spike of 13,586 new COVID cases in a single day. It pushes the tally to 3,80,532 with the death toll of 12,573. The number of recoveries crossed the two lakh mark and stands at 2.04.710. There are 1,63,248 total Covid-19 active cases, according to the official figure at 8 a.m. today.  

  • Coronavirus will ‘fade away’ even without vaccine: Trump 

    While the Covid-19 pandemic has been shaking the globe, USA President Donald Trump has released a statement that the Corona pandemic will ‘fade away’ even without vaccine. We’re very close to a vaccine and we’re very close to therapeutics, really good therapeutics,” Trump said Wednesday night in a television interview with Fox News.  

     

  • India to Ban ‘Chinese Products’ amid Border Dispute 

    Amid the hue and cry on India-China bilateral relation, the Indian government has decided to respond to the border dispute with China by training its guns on trade. As per reports, the idea resonating in Indian streets is that Indians should boycott Chinese goods and thus “teach Chin a lesson”. 

  • Condition of Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain Worsens, Shifted to Another Hospital 

    Delhi’s Health Minister Satyendar Jain who tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) is moved to another hospital in the capital. The reason behind shifting him is his detonating condition. On Wednesday, Jain tweeted that he has tested positive for COVID disease. On Tuesday, He was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital (RGSSH). Union home minister Amit Shah wished Satyendar Jain for a quick recovery.
