  • NABARD Sets Priority Sector Lending Target of Rs 2.70 Lakh Crore for Bengal in FY24

    On January 18, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development announced a credit target of Rs 2.70 lakh crore for priority sector lending in West Bengal for the fiscal year 2023-24, which is 9.3 percent higher than the previous year's estimate. Agriculture, including agri-infrastructure and ancillary activities, accounts for 39.54 percent of total credit potential under the priority sector for the fiscal year 2023-24, while MSME accounts for 44.26 percent, according to NABARD Chief General Manager Usha Ramesh.

On a trial basis, we have brought 100 tonnes of apples from Moldova to India through the ports of Chennai and Mumbai. We will import more from that nation once the government approves following these trial imports, according to Nishanth Yeddanapalli, Managing Director of Chennai-based Purecrop Agro Private Limited.

    In an effort to improve the nation's infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the cornerstones for a number of development projects in Karnataka and Maharashtra on Thursday. The Yadgir multi-village drinking water delivery programme, which will provide potable water to nearly 2.3 lakh households in over 700 rural habitations and three towns, will have its foundation stone laid by PM Modi in Kodekal, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

     

  • MeitY Launches New Technology System for Air Quality Monitoring- 'AI-AQMS v1.0'

    Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), has launched the technology for Air Quality Monitoring System (AI-AQMS v1.0), developed under MeitY-supported projects. Under the national programme on electronics and ICT applications in Agriculture and Environment (AgriEnIcs), the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Kolkata, in collaboration with TeXMIN, ISM, Dhanbad, has developed an outdoor air quality monitoring station to monitor environmental pollutants like PM 1.0, PM 2.5, PM 10.0, Sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO), oxygen (O2), ambient temperature, relative humidity, etc, for continuous air quality analysis of the environment, according to the ministry statement.
