  • Delhi Police Issues Traffic Advisory Ahead of Kisan Garjana Rally

    Ahead of the 'Kisan Garjana' rally being organized at the Ramleela Ground in the national capital on Monday, the Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory. The gathering will take place on December 19 from 11 am to 6 pm, according to the advisory, while it is sponsored by the Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), a division of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). According to the organizers, 50-55 thousand people are anticipated to attend the rally through 700 to 800 buses and 3,500 to 4,000 private vehicles.

    According to official sources, the meeting will be held at the Naveen Hotel in the city of Karnataka, where all stakeholders can express their expectations and thoughts on other issues related to the production, trade, and export of spices. It provides a common platform for spice industry buyers and sellers to interact directly and establish effective business links. The emphasis will be on chilli, turmeric, pepper, and ginger- the potential ones that are integrated into the farming community's livelihood in Karnataka's central and northeastern regions.

     

  • Cotton Corporation & Texprocil Signs MoU to Promote Premium Kasturi Cotton

    The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) and the Cotton Corporation of India have signed an agreement for the branding and traceability of Kasturi Cotton grown in India. The branding of the premium India-grown cotton was entrusted to Texprocil. According to Sunil Patwari, Chairman of Texprocil, despite having a strong presence in the global market, India is unable to brand its cotton varieties, unlike the United States - PIMA Cotton - and Egypt - GIZA Cotton.

  • “Rubber Farmers Should Turn to Product Manufacturing Entrepreneurship”: Rubber Board Chairman

    Rubber Producers' Societies (RPSs) should pursue entrepreneurship in rubber product manufacturing with the assistance of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), according to Sawar Dhanania, Chairman of the Rubber Board. He was speaking to rubber growers in Kottayam as part of a seminar on the 'Scope of Farmer Producer Organizations in the Rubber Sector. The RPSs have succeeded in organising unorganised rubber farmers, and now it is critical to find a place in the product-making sector.

     

  • African Leaders & U.S. Govt Affirm Commitment to Africa’s Nutrition Investment

    The African Development Bank through the African Leaders for Nutrition, the Nutrition CEO Council and the African Union Commission convened a high-level discussion on 12 December, on the sidelines of the U.S.-African Leaders Summit. The leaders called on the U.S. government and the global community to prioritse nutrition in global frameworks and policies, and increase investment in nutrition in Africa. They emphasized the opportunities for collaboration between the United States and African nations to address the continent’s nutrition challenges.
