  • IMD Weather Forecasts Heavy Rains Alert In States

    Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over Southeast Bay of Bengal and nearby areas, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its forecast on Friday that the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, as well as certain other states, are likely to get significant rainfall over the next few days. Meanwhile, a fresh western disturbance is likely to bring light rain/snowfall to the Western Himalayan Region, according to the weather service.

  • ‘Ready To Go Green’ Indigo Takes Delivery of Its Aircraft Operating Sustainable Aviation Fuel

    IndiGo, the country's largest airline, took receipt of the first aircraft from Airbus that operated on a blend of sustainable aviation fuel and regular fuel on Friday as part of its journey toward sustainable aviation. In a statement, the airline stated, "IndiGo has received its first aircraft from Airbus that runs on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). SAF is being used for the first time by an Indian carrier on an overseas flight."

  • Coal India Dispatches To Power Plant Hike 23% During April – February

    So far, this fiscal year, Coal India Ltd's despatches to power plants have increased by 23% to 468.4 million tonnes. The company provided 381 million tonne to power plants in the previous fiscal year's same quarter. Coal India's overall deliveries so far, this fiscal year have been 575 MTs higher than the yearly shipment of 574.5 million tonne in fiscal year 2021. "With about a month and a half to go before FY22 comes to a close, Coal India Limited (CIL) has already raced ahead of FY21's total coal despatch," Coal India stated.

     

  • SBI Special FD Scheme for Senior Citizens Extended till Sep 2022

    State Bank of India (SBI), the country's largest lender, has once again extended the special deposit scheme for senior residents. The SBI 'WECARE' Elderly Citizens' Term Deposit scheme for senior citizens, which was initially effective through September 2020, was introduced in May 2020. The special FD scheme was extended numerous times during the Covid-19 pandemic. The bank has extended it till the end of September this year.
