  • Cabinet Approves Rs 11,040 crore Scheme to reduce 'Edible Oil Import'

    To reduce the India’s reliance on imported edible oil, the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 18th August (Wednesday) approved the launch of a new mission to boost the palm oil production – National Mission on Edible Oil- Oil Palm – with an outlay of Rs 11,040 crore. The central scheme will have a special focus on northeastern region & the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

  • IMD Predicts heavy rains in these states from 19th to 21st August

    On 18th August (Wednesday), the India Meteorological Department predicted the enhanced rainfall activity over the central & adjoining north Peninsular India during the next 2 to 3 days. IMD said that widespread to heavy rain is likely to occur over Gujarat region, Odisha, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal on 18th & 19th August. There will be increased rainfall activity over the Northeast India from 19th August. Scattered to fairly widespread rains along with isolated heavy falls is likely to occur over the East Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand from 19th to 21st August.

  • Union Mines Ministry to adopt scheme for prospecting 'Minerals'

    In a push for India’s Mineral Security, the Union mines ministry has adopted scheme for the accreditation of the private exploration agencies for prospecting the minerals. According to mines ministry, the scheme for the accreditation of the private exploration agencies developed by National Accreditation Board for the Education & Training of Quality Council of India.

  • CCEA approves revival package of Rs 77.45crore for Agri Marketing Corporation

    On 18thAugust (Wednesday), the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved Rs 77.45crore package for the revival of state-run North Eastern Regional Agriculture Marketing Corporation Limited (NERAMAC). The NERAMAC is a central public sector enterprise under administrative control of Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region. The Information & Broadcasting minister, Anurag Thakur said that the CCEA has approved a revival package of Rs 77.45crore for NERAMAC.

  • Sugar Rally could help India to Export 6 million tones without Subsidy

    India could export 6 million tonnes of sugar in the new season, which is starting from October even without the government subsidies, with the global prices making overseas sales more lucrative after the rising to their highest in the 4 – ½ years. New Delhi is expected to withdraw the sugar export subsidies from new season as a sharp rise in the price made it easier for the Indian Mills to sell on the world market.

  • Indian Renewal Energy Developers issues ‘Green Bond’ worth Rs 26,300crore

    According to the study by the CEEW Centre for Energy Finance, the Indian renewable energy developers have issued the green bonds worth Rs 26,300crore in the first half of 2021 alone, beating the previous 1 year record. The study supported by the Bloomberg Philanthropies, and found that the Indian developers have risen more than Rs 78,200crore since 2014 through the green bonds.

     

  • The Price of LPG Cylinder hikes again by Rs 25

    The price of a Liquefied Petroleum Gas domestic cylinder hiked again by Rs 25 on 17thAugust (Tuesday). After the latest hike in the domestic cylinder would now cost at Rs 859 apiece in Delhi. In Delhi, the LPG Cylinder prices were Rs 809 on 1st June & rose further to Rs 834 on 1st July. Between 1st January & 17th August, the price of the cooking gas cylinder is up by Rs 165 each.
