  • Grand Success for India; Gets Overwhelming Support in its Election to UNSC

    India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador, Mr. T S Tirumurti said country has received big support in its election to the UNSC and it would continue to provide leadership & a new orientation for a reformed multilateral system. India got 184 votes out of 192 ballots cast in the General Assembly to win the election for non-permanent seat in the Security Council.

    India’s 2-year term will start on 1st January 2021. This is the 8th time that the country will sit at the UN high-table, which comprises 5 permanent members & 10 non-permanent members.

  • HPBOSE 12 Results 2020: Himachal Pradesh Board Class XII Results Declared

    HPBOSE HP Board 12th Results 2020: Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education or HPBOSE has announced the class 12th results today (18th June 2020). HPBOSE Class XII results would be available online from 11:30 am onwards hence students who have appeared for the exam can check their results on the official portal of HPBOSE at hpbose.org.

  • WOW! Amma Canteens to Give Free Food during Lockdown  

    Edappadi K Palanisamy, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has today said that Amma canteens will provide free food to people under Metropolitan Chennai Police limits amid lockdown between June 19 and June 30. On Monday, the Tamil Nadu government had declared a complete lockdown in 4 districts, namely Chennai, from June 19 - 30 due to the rising cases of the coronavirus infection in the state. 

     

  • ALERT! Pregnant Women Have More Risk for Covid-19 Pneumonia 

    According to a Spanish study, pregnant women have a higher risk of developing pneumonia from the coronavirus infection than women in general aged between 30 - 40 years. A number of coronavirus positive pregnant women have been reported, since the outbreak of covid-19 in Wuhan. The study has also found that pregnant women who developed coronavirus symptoms had a 61.5% chance of developing pneumonia compared with an average risk of 25% for women in general between 30 and 40 years old in Spain. Thus, experts have warned that pregnant women are more expected to develop severe symptoms from COVID-19, though there’s no evidence to suggest that this virus affects pregnant women differently than others. 

     

  • Nepal’s Parliament Approves New Map incorporating Indian territories 

    With a shocking note, Nepal’s National Assembly on Thursday unanimously passed the Constitution Amendment Bill to update the country’s political and administrative map incorporating the Indian territories. However, India has termed as untenable the "artificial enlargement" of territorial claims by Nepal after its lower house of parliament on Saturday unanimously approved the new political map of the country featuring areas which India maintains belong to it.  

  • Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine : CureVac starts human trials; Pfizer vaccine by October 

    Dexamethasone, an anti-inflammatory low-cost drug has reported to reduce death up to one- third in hospitalised patients diagnosed with acute respiratory complications of Covid-19 researchers said. On Wednesday, the UK government authorised the drug for Covid-19 treatment.
