  • Monsoon Update: Light Rainfall Likely in Delhi Today

    On Monday, the minimum temperature in the national capital was 27.8 degrees Celsius, which was somewhat higher than the season's average. The weather service predicts overcast skies with a chance of light rain or drizzle. The relative humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 82 percent, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The high temperature is forecast to be 37 degrees Celsius.

     

     

  • Mumbai's Vegetable Supply is Decreasing, Cauliflower Reached Rs. 100 Per Kilogram

    Residents in the city will not be spared from rising vegetable costs since supply has been hampered by heavy rains over the previous week. The one-day token protest against the 5% GST, followed by the weekend, reduced wholesale supplies even further. According to an Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) dealer, the entire availability of vegetables in the wholesale market has plummeted by 40%.

    In Mumbai, fuel costs Rs. 106.31 per liter, and diesel costs Rs. 94.27, whilst in Delhi, petrol costs Rs 96.72 per liter, and diesel costs Rs 89.62. Last week, Maharashtra's fuel prices changed as a result of the state government's move to decrease the value-added tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 3 per liter, respectively. Petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai plummeted the day after the announcement, by Rs 5.04 per liter and Rs 3.01 per liter, respectively.

  • Agricultural Exports increased by 14% in the First Quarter of the Fiscal Year 2022-23

    Agricultural and processed food exports from India increased 14% in the first three months of the current fiscal year 2022-23. (April-June). The total value of exports was $5,987 million. Exports total $5,256 million in the same period the previous year. Under the Agricultural and Processed Food Goods Export Development Authority, the government set an export target of $23.56 billion for the agricultural and processed food products basket for 2022-23. (APEDA).

  • No Plans to Provide Free Electricity to the Agricultural Sector Says, Energy Minister Pratap Keshari Deb

    Even though power usage in Odisha's agriculture sector accounts for only 2.72 percent of overall energy consumption, the state administration has said that there is no plan to provide free electricity to the farm sector. According to the Minister, electricity consumption in the TPCODL area of operation was 27.2 MU in 2012-13 and is expected to climb to 53 MU in 2021-22. Energy consumption in the agriculture sector has grown from 46 MU to 120.67 MU in TPNODL regions.

    Uruguayan company Yalfín and the multinational Syngenta launched two new NK maize hybrids in Uruguay, which are NK 870 and NK 842, both under the Viptera3 version, biotechnology for controlling major species of caterpillars that also presents as a differential tolerance to glyphosate. Yalfín’s technician, Gabriel Castiglioni, said that the biotechnological seeds ″were already being tested in this harvest in Uruguay
