    The 17th International Crop-Science Conference & Expo, hosted by the Pesticides Manufacturers & Formulators Association of India (PMFAI), concluded with a glitzy award ceremony in Dubai on Friday night. Delegates and leading agrochemical companies visited the 2-day international event which is being manifested as India's 'biggest agri inputs trade show'. The 17th International Crop-Science Conference & Expo, hosted by the Pesticides Manufacturers & Formulators Association of India (PMFAI), concluded with a glitzy award ceremony in Dubai on Friday night. Delegates and leading agrochemical companies visited the 2-day international event which is being manifested as India's 'biggest agri inputs trade show'.

     

  • CM Bommai Announces Interest-Free Loans for Karnataka Farmers

    Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday announced an increase in the amount of interest-free short-term loans offered to farmers from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh starting with the upcoming fiscal year to win over farmers in an election year. Bommai stated this when presenting the 2023–2034 budget to the state Legislative Assembly. This would guarantee the availability of a hassle-free and need-based lending facility for making essential preparation for farm-related operations.

     

     

  • Big News for Farmers! PM Kisan 13 Installment to be Released on This Date; Check Your Payment Status

    As per official reports, the 13th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme will be most probably released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last week of this month i.e., between Feb 24 to 27, 2023. The payment is most likely to be released on February 27, according to sources. The last installment of PM-Kisan scheme worth Rs. 16,000 crore was released to around 80 million farmers on 17th October 2022. Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare recently informed the Parliament that the number of beneficiaries under PM Kisan has increased from 3.16 crore in 2019 to over 10 crore in 2022.

     

  • Amrita School of Agricultural Sciences Spreads Awareness on Lumpy Skin Disease

    Students demonstrated awareness sessions for dairy farmers on Lumpy Skin Disease in cattle and the use of the California Mastitis Test kit. Panchayat President Ramkumar, Vice President Marimuthu, and many other farmers took part in the demonstrations and got benefited. Almost every household in the Pottaiyandipurambu Panchayat keeps cattle, with at least one cow. Furthermore, a recent outbreak of Lumpy Skin Disease (known as 'Periyammai' in local language) is rapidly spreading. So, in order to reduce the number of cases and the severity of the spread, Dr. Deepak Chandran organised an awareness session (Assistant professor, Amrita School of Agricultural Sciences).
