  • Onion Farmers in Maharashtra in Agitation Mode due to Drastic Decrease in Price

    Onion farmers in Maharashtra are in agitation mode. As per the reports, against the production cost of ₹12-13 per kg onion they are getting a rate of ₹6-7 per kg in the market from traders for the last few months. They don’t have any other option than to bring the produce to the market as rains and humidity are destroying the bulb crop in storages.

  • Weather Department issues orange alert in Delhi for next three days

    Delhi witnessed fresh spell of rainfall on Monday (17th August 2020) resulting in water-logging in many parts. The weather department has predicted an increase in the intensity of rainfall for the next two days. The IMD has also issued an “orange” alert in Delhi for the next 3 days with moderate to heavy rainfall.

  • Maharashtra Government is Offering a Guarantee Loans Raised by Sugar Mills

    The Maharashtra government on Monday issued separate notifications to guarantee loans raised by two sugar mills owned by sugar baron politicians. Other sugar mills in the State are set to get similar benefits even as sugar mills have a history to default on loans guaranteed by the State.

     

  • Govt jobs in Madhya Pradesh to be reserved only for state youth: Madhya Pradesh CM

    Amid the corona crisis, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Tuesday announced that his government would take legal steps to ensure public sector job appointments are reserved only for the state’s youth.

    As per the recent reports, Chouhan held a meeting with his ministers and senior officials through video conferencing in connection with the implementation of announcements made in his Independence Day address. “Our government has taken an important decision today. We will be taking necessary legal steps so that government jobs in Madhya Pradesh are only given to the state’s youth,” news agency ANI quoted.

  • Congress Writes to Mark Zuckerberg, Seeks inquiry into Facebook India operations

    The Congress shot off a letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday asking him to set up a high-level inquiry into the Facebook India leadership team and their operations in light of  the report in The Wall Street Journal.

    The letter which is sent by Congress general secretary KC Venugopal, also suggested that the report be submitted to the board of Facebook Inc “within a reasonable period of time such as one/two months” and be made public.
