Heavy rainfall in Maharashtra Destroys crops on 7 lakh hectares
In the last four days, the retreating monsoon has caused heavy damages to harvest-ready crops over 7 lakh hectares, in more than ten districts of central & western Maharashtra. Hence now the state has decided to talk to the Centre and ask for a relief package. Spot estimates of losses caused are underway.

Bihar Election 2020 Live: Mahagathbandhan releases manifesto with focus on farm laws, jobs
The Mahagathbandhan or the Grand Alliance in Bihar, comprising of the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Left parties, on Saturday released its election manifesto with special emphasis on agricultural laws and government jobs.
“We shall pass a Bill to scrap the anti-farm laws during the first Vidhan Sabha session if we form the government under the leadership of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav,” Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said.

India ranked 94 among 107 nations in the Global Hunger Index 2020 and is in the 'serious' hunger category with experts blaming poor implementation processes, lack of effective monitoring, siloed approach in tackling malnutrition and poor performance by large states behind the low ranking.
