Weather Today: New Monsoon Winds Expected in Next 24 Hours, Warning of Heavy Rain in Many Places
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rains in various areas of the country including eastern Uttar Pradesh for the next five days. Similarly, the private weather agency Skymet has also said that due to the formation of low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, a new monsoon wind can move during the next 24 hours.

Maharashtra farmers protest against Government’s decision to ban onion export
Farmers in Maharashtra took to street protests on Tuesday (15 September) against the Government’s decision to ban onion export. At Lasalgaon in Nashik, which is Asia’s biggest onion hub, growers kept shops closed & brought trading to a halt at the agricultural produce market committee or APMC market. Angry farmers also blocked traffic at Mumbai-Agra highway.

India coronavirus Live Update: 5 million cases now, last million in 11 days
The number of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus crossed the five million (50 lakh) mark on Tuesday, with the addition of more than 90,000 new detections. The last one million cases have been added in just 11 days, says Reports.

Indo-China Live Update: Indian and Chinese troops fired 100-200 rounds on Pangong north bank
In midst of corona crisis, the two sides have agreed to hold another round of talks between the Corps Commanders though the date is still to be decided. The officer indicated that this time, the talks may include an official from the Ministry of External Affairs. According to the officer, “100 to 200 shots” were fired in the air by both sides on the ridgeline where Finger 3 and Finger 4 merge before moving north as one ridge.

A group of activists on Wednesday released a statement
against the “brazenness” of the Delhi Police investigation in the Delhi riots. Demanding that activists arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) be immediately released, the statement said, “The real culprits — who in broad daylight threatened to clear the protest site by force or those who came with guns into protest sites, or those who chanted provocative and violent slogans — remain free. Even all democratic voices of dissent are being gradually implicated,” the statement read.
